Our History

REBELS MC AUSTRALIA

The Rebels Motorcycle Club is one of Australia's most prominent motorcycle organizations. Founded by Clint Jacks in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1969, the club was originally named the "Confederates" before becoming known as Rebels MC. At its peak, the organization had around 70 chapters and over 1,000 members and associates nationwide, making it the largest motorcycle club in the country at the time.

The club's iconic insignia features a Confederate flag with a cap-wearing skull and 1% patch in the centre, symbolizing the club's identity and heritage. According to its constitution, Rebels MC is a non-profit organization that promotes the riding of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and emphasizes the brotherhood of the motorcycle lifestyle.

Club membership comes with a significant commitment. Members are only permitted to join the Rebels MC once and are prohibited from joining any other motorcycle club, reflecting the organization's emphasis on loyalty and dedication. This principle underscores the club's core values of brotherhood and commitment.

Whether viewed as an outlaw motorcycle club or a group of passionate motorcycle enthusiasts—depending on perspective—the Rebels MC remains a significant organization in Australia's motorcycle culture, with a history spanning over five decades of riding, camaraderie, and community presence.
